Munich to sign Midfielder Schweinsteiger on a two- year contract.
30-year-old Schweinsteiger does not have age on his side, he
represents a stunning capture by United as they prepare to make a
return to the Champions League.
United boss Louis van Gaal has been seeking a midfield enforcer since
he arrived at the club last summer and in Schweinsteiger, he has
signed a proven world class performer in that vital position.
It has been evident for several days that United were edging closer to
a deal for Schweinsteiger, with Bayern Munich Chiefs admitting their
talisman was 'flattered' by links with United.
This news will also explain why United have not followed up their
first bid for Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin with a second
offer.
