Two days ago, the NBC claimed it had successfully jammed signals from
separatist radio station, Radio Biafra. But the owners of the station
and some Nigerians who follow the activities of the station denied the
claims of the regulatory agency.
Radio Biafra operates from an unknown location with the frequency 88.0
and it is quite popular among some listeners.
The station which shows solidarity for the Biafra struggle is mainly
listened to by people in Rivers, Imo, Anambra and Enugu state.
In a related development, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo recently
stated that the radio station, "does not have the backing of the South
East, any leader of the South East, or any Igbo man."
